Given information

  • ↠Length of a rectangle exceeds its breadth by 4 .
  • ↠Perimeter of the rectangle is 84m

What we have to find

❏ we have to find length of rectangle and breadth of rectangle

The Formula of finding Perimeter of rectangle

  • ➲ Perimeter Of Rectangle = 2 (l + b)

Where ,

  • ↠l = length
  • ↠b = breadth

Finding length & breadth of rectangle

First consider that the length (l) is x + 4 and breadth (b) is x

As we know

↠ Perimeter of rectangle = 2 (l + b)

  • Submitting values

↠ Perimeter of rectangle = 2 (x + 4 + x)

  • On Adding x and x we get 2x

↠ Perimeter of rectangle = 2 (2x + 4)

  • Putting value of perimeter 84 (as given)

↠ 84 = 2(2x + 4)

  • Opening bracket and multiply 2x + 4 by 2

↠ 84 = 4x + 8

  • Transferring sides

↠ 84 - 8 = 4x

  • Subtracting 84 by 8

↠ 76 = 4x

  • Again transferring sides

↠ x = 76/4

  • Dividing 76 by 4

↠ x = 19

Finding out length and breadth of rectangle

For breadth

↠breadth of rectangle = x

  • putting value of x

↠breadth of rectangle = 19 m

For length

↠length of rectangle = x + 4

  • putting value of x

↠length of rectangle = 19 + 4

  • On adding

↠length of rectangle = 23 m

Hence the length of rectangle is 23m and breadth of rectangle is 19m
