Step-by-step explanation:

Let the rectangle is of following measure

breath = b  \\ length = b + 4 \\ also \\ perimeter \: of \: rectangle = 2  \times( l + b) \\  and \: according \: to \: the \: question\\ perimeter  \: of rectangle \:   is \:  84 \:cm \\ so  \\ 2 \times (l + b) = 84 \\ we \: konw \: that \: (l = b + 4 \:  and \: b  = b) \\ by \: putting \: values \\ 2 \times (b + 4 + b) = 84  \\ by \: transposing \: 2 \: to \: other \: side we \: will \: get\\ (b + 4 + b) = 84 \div 2  = 42\\ then \\ (2 b+ 4) = 42 \\ by \: transposing \: 4 \: we \: will \: get  \\ (2b) = 42 - 4 = 38 \\ now \: transposing \: 2 \: to \: other \: side \: we \: will \: get \\ (b) = 38 \div 2 = 19 \\ so \: breadth = 19cm \\ we \: know \: that \: length \: is \: cm \: greater \: than \: breadth \: so \\ length = 19 + 4 = 23cm \:  \\ breadth = 19cm \: and \: length = 23cm
