Answer:

let the breadth be x

then length be (x+4)

perimeter =2 (l+b)

84 = 2 (x+4+x)

84÷2 = x+4+x

42 = 2x+4

42-4 = 2x

38 = 2x

38÷2 = x

x = 19 m

length = x+4

= 19+4

=23m

breadth = 19m

Answer:

l= 23m and b= 19m.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given, l-b=4m, where l and b are the length and breadth of the rectangle respectively. So, l= 4+b.......(i). And perimeter of rectangle= 84m.

Since, Perimeter of rectangle= 2(l+b).

84= 2(4+b+b).

84/2= 2b+4.

42-4 = 2b.

b= 38/2= 19m.

Now, putting this value of b in (i):-

since, l= b+4.

so, l= 19+4.

or, l= 23m.

So, l= 23m and b= 19m.
