let the breadth to be x

length x + 4

perimetre of rectangle = 2 [ l +b ]

= 2 [ x +4 + x ] = 84

2x + 4 = 84 / 2

2x + 4 = 42

2x = 42 - 4 = 38

2x = 38

x = 38 / 2

x = 19

breadth = 19 m [ x]

length = 23 m [x + 4 ]

perimeter of the rectangle=84 m

let the length =x m

therefore the breadth=x+4 m

2(x+x+4)=84

or,2x+4=42

or,2x=42-4

or,2x=38

or,x=19

so it's length is 19m and breadth is 23 m
