Given:

• Perimeter = 38m

Supposition:

• Let breadth of the rectangle is X

• Then length will be = x + 5

Formula:

• Perimeter = 2(Length + Breadth)

Solution:

• Put values in formula

• 38 = 2{(x+5) + x}

• 38 = 2{x+5+x}

• 38 = 2{2x+5}

• 38/2 = 2x + 5

• 19 = 2x + 5

• 19 - 5 = 2x

• 14 = 2x

• 14/2 = x

• 7 = x

• Or

• x = 7

Breadth:

• As breadth is x. And x=7

• So breadth = 7m

Length:

• As length = x + 5

• By putting value of x

• length = 7 + 5

length = 12m
