let the breadth of rectangle be x
the length of rectangle = 1.5x
perimeter of rectangle=2(length+breadth)
                                =2(x+1.5x)
                                =5x
it is given that perimeter=100cm
thus, 5x=100
          x=20 cm
length=1.5x
          =1.5 x 20
          =30 cm
hence the length and breadth of rectangle are 30cm and 20 cm respectively

dkdk: Sum given in. The Solve with elimination method
namku: u shud have mentioned in question ...... ill edit my answer wait
namku: u can use elimination only when u have a system of equatiosna tleast 2 equations must be there for that so this sum is useless for elimination method
dkdk: Correct answer with perfect method is
dkdk: L=x b=y x=1½therefore x=3/2y & thus eqn 1 is 2x-3y=0& for eqn 2. 2( x+y)=100& here we get eqn 2 x+y=50 then solve
namku: i did the exact same thing right ?
namku: instead of y i wrote directly y
namku: directly 1.5x **
dkdk: Yaa but from eqn 1&2 it should be eliminated
namku: kk
