Explanation:

area of rectangle = length x breadth

12 x 8

96 cm square

if one side of square = half the length of rectangle

side = 12/2

6 cm

area of square = side x side

6x6

36 cm square

pls tell if it satisfied with this answer

Solution :-

In this question it is given that, The side of a square is half of the length of the rectangle.

According to the Situation :

➞ Side of Square = Length ÷ 2

➞ Side of Square = 12 ÷ 2

➞ Side of Square = 6cm

________________

Applying Area of Square :

➞ Area of Square = (Side)²

➞ Area of Square = side × side

➞ Area of Square = 6 × 6

➞ Area of Square = 36cm²

________________

Applying Area of Rectangle :

➞ Area of Rectangle = Length × Breadth

➞ Area of Rectangle = 12 × 8

➞ Area of Rectangle = 96cm²

________________

Therefore, Area of Square = 36cm² and Area of Rectangle = 96cm²

Additional Info :

Formulas Related to Rectangle :

  • Perimeter of Rectangle = 2( l + b)
  • Area = Length × Breadth
  • Length = Area / Breadth
  • Breadth = Area / Length
  • Diagonal = √(l)² + (b)²

Formulas Related to Square :

  • Perimeter = 4 × Side
  • Area = Side × Side
  • Side of Square = √Area
  • Diagonal = √2 × Side
  • Area = ½ × (Diagonal)²
  • Area = (Perimeter ÷ 4)²
