Answer: Length= 28cm

Breadth =22cm

Let the breadth be b

Length is 2b - 16

Perimeter of the rectangle = 2( l + b) = 100 cm

=> 2 ( 2b - 16 + b) = 100

=> 3b - 16 = 100/2

=> 3b - 16 = 50

=> 3b = 66

=> b = 22 cm

length = 2 x 22 - 16 = 44 - 16 = 28 cm

Hence, length = 28 cm and breadth = 22 cm

Solution:
Let the rectangle has x cm length & y cm is breadth.
Then according to the given conditions, we get
x = 2y - 16
& perimeter = 2x + 2y = 100 .......E1
substituting the value of x in E1, we get
2 (2y -16) + 2y = 100
or 4y - 32 + 2y = 100
or y = (132/6) = 22

Therefore, x = 2 × 22 - 16 = 28

Hence, length is 28 cm & width is 22 cm.
