  • length of a rectangle is 4 cm more than twice its breadth
  • perimeter is 68

  • Length & Breadth

Using Formula

\star\small{\tt{\blue{\:Perimeter_{rectangle}\:=\:2\times(Length\:+\:Breadth)}}}

Let,

  • Length be x cm
  • Breadth be y cm

Case(1).

(length of a rectangle is 4 cm more than twice its breadth.)

➡ x = 2y + 4 _______________(1)

Case(2).

(perimeter be 68 cm)

➡ Perimeter of rectangle = 2 × (Length + Breadth )

➡ 68 = 2 × (x + y )

keep value by equ(1)

➡68 = 2 × [ (2y+4)+y]

➡68 = 2 × (3y+4)

➡68/2 = (3y + 4)

➡34 = 3y + 4

➡ 3y = 34 - 4

➡3y = 30

➡y = 30/3

➡y = 10

keep value of y in equ(1)

➡x = 2 × 10 + 4

➡x = 20 + 4

➡x = 24

  • Length = 24 cm
  • Breadth = 10 cm

Answer:

Lenght = 24 cm

Breadth = 10 cm

Step-by-step explanation:

Let breadth of rectangle be x(cm)

then length will be 4 + 2x (cm)

Perimeter = 2(lenght + breadth)

68 = 2 ( 4 + 2x + x )

68 = 2 ( 4 + 3x )

68 = 8 + 6x

68 - 8 = 6x

6x = 60

x = 10

Breadth = x = 10 cm

Lenght = 4 + 2x = 4+20= 24 cm
