Given

we have given length of Rectangle is 4cm more than the breadth.

Perimeter of the Rectangle is 48cm

To find

Length and breadth of the Rectangle

\sf\huge\bold{\underline{\underline{{Solution}}}}

Let the breadth of the Rectangle be 'x'cm

Length is 4cm more than the breadth

then the length of the Rectangle be( 4+x)cm

Perimeter of Rectangle= 2(length+ breadth)

Perimeter of Rectangle= 2[x+(4+x)]

=>48= 2(2x+4)

=>48=4x+8

=>4x=48-8

=>4x= 40

=>x=40÷4

=>x=10

hence, breadth of the Rectangle = 10cm

Length of the Rectangle= 4+x= 4+10= 14cm

Check:

Perimeter of Rectangle= 2(10+14)

=>2(24)

=>48cm

Extra information=>

Perimeter is the total distance occupy by a solid 2D figure around its edge.

Properties of Rectangle:

  • A rectangle is a type of quadrilateral.
  • Opposite sides are parallel & equal
  • Sum of all Interior angles makes 360°
  • Diagonals bisects each other and both diagonals are of same length.

★ To find:

  • Length and breadth of the Rectangle

★ Solution:

Let the breadth of the Rectangle be ' x 'cm

Length of the Rectangle = ( 4+x) cm

Perimeter of Rectangle= 2 (length+ breadth)

Perimeter of Rectangle= 2 { x + (4 + x) }

➭ 48 = 2 ( 2x + 4 )

➭ 48 = 4x + 8

➭ 4x= 48 - 8

➭ 4x = 40

➭ x = 40 /4

➭ x = 10

Therefore,

➨ Breadth of the Rectangle = 10cm

➨ Length of the Rectangle= 4 + x= 4 + 10= 14cm
