let the breadth be 2x and length be 2x-5

perimeter=40m

According to the problem-

2(2x-5+2x)=40

2(4x-5)=40

8x-10=40

8x=40+10

8x=50

x=50/8

x=6.25

therefore breadth=2x6.25= 12.5 and length=12.5-5=7.5
