QuestioN :

Length of a rectangle is 5cm and breadth is 3 cm then find the ratio of its perimeter to it's area.

8:15

16:15

15:16

15:8

GiveN :

  • Length of the rectangle = 5 cm
  • Breadth of the rectangle = 3 cm

To FiNd :

  • Ratio of its perimeter to its area

Formula :

  • Perimeter of the rectangle = 2(l + b)
  • Area of the rectangle = l × b

ANswer :

❖ Ratio of its perimeter to its area = 16 : 15

SolutioN :

Using formula,

Perimeter of the rectangle = 2(l + b)

where,

  • l = length of the rectangle
  • b = breadth of the rectangle

Substituting the given values,

⟶ 2(5 + 3)

⟶ 2(8)

16 cm

❖ Perimeter of the rectangle = 16 cm

Using formula,

Area of the rectangle = l × b

Substituting the given values,

⟶ 5 × 3

15 cm²

❖ Area of the rectangle = 15 cm²

Ratio of its perimeter to its area :-

Ratio = Perimeter of the rectangle/Area of the rectangle

⟶ 16 : 15

❖ Ratio of its perimeter to its area = 16 : 15
