Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Breadth = 56m

Length = 8 cm less than twice the breadth

L = 56 x 2 =112

112 - 8 = 104

Length = 104 and Breadth = 56

CORRECT QUESTION:

Length of a Rectangle is 8 cm less than twice its brearth. Perimeter of the rectangle is 56 m. Find the Length and breadth.

ANSWER:

  • Length of the rectangle = 12m , Breadth of the rectangle = 24m.

GIVEN:

  • Length of a Rectangle is 8 cm less than twice its breadth.
  • Perimeter of the rectangle = 56m

TO FIND:

  • Find the Length and breadth?

SOLUTION:

Let the breadth be x....(eq - 1)

Length = (2x - 8)m

Perimeter = 56m

= 2 ( 2 x - 8 + x ) = 56m

= 4x - 16 + 2x = 56m

= 6x - 16 = 56m

  • Transpose 16 towards the right.

= 6x = 56 + 16m

= 6x = 72m

= x = 72/6m

= x = 12m

  • Breadth is 12m ( eq - 1 )
  • Length = 2 × breadth = 2 × 12 = 24 ( Given, length = twice of its breadth. )

Hence , Length of the rectangle = 12m , Breadth of the rectangle = 24m.
