let breadth be x
then length = 2x-8
perimeter = 56
2(x+(2x-8))=56
x+2x-8=56/2
3x-8 = 28
3x=28+8
3x= 36
x=36/3
x=12
lenth is 2×12-8=16 cm
breadth is 12 cm
