Length of a rectangle is twice its breadth. If its length is decreased by 5cm and breadth is
increased by 5cm, the area of the rectangle is increased by 75 sq.cm. Find the length and
breadth. ​

Answer:

let the breadth=x

length =2x

if length is decreased by 5cm then length =2x_5

if breadth is increased by 5cm then breadth =x+5

area of rectangle =2 (l+b)

=2 (2x_5+x+5)

=2 (3x)

=6x

area of rectangle =6x=75

6x=75

x=75/6

x=12.5

so original breadth =x=12.5cm

original length=2x=2×12.5=25cm
