Length of a rectangular is three times its breadth. Perimeter of the rectangle is 40 cm. Find its length and
breadth.

Length of a rectangle =3x

Breadth of a rectangle =x

Perimeter =40 cm

Perimeter =2(l+b)

40 = 2(3x+x)

40 = 6x + 2x

40 = 8x

40÷8= x

5 = x

Length = 3x = 3×5 = 15 cm

breadth = x = 5 cm
