Question:-

Length of a rectangular park is 2m less than thrice the breadth. perimeter of park is 156. the length of park

Answer:-

  • The length of park is 58 m

Solution:-

  • Length = 3x-2 m
  • Breadth = x m
  • Perimeter = 156 m

 \blue{ \boxed{ \red{ \underline{ \underline{ \green{ \large{perimeter = 2(l + b)}}}}}}}

 \large { :  \implies \: 2(3x - 2 + x) = 156}

 \large { :  \implies \: 4x - 2 =  \frac{156}{2} } \\

 \large { :  \implies \: 4x - 2 = 78}

 \large { :  \implies \: 4x = 78 </strong><strong>+</strong><strong> 2}

 \large { :  \implies \: 4x = </strong><strong>8</strong><strong>0</strong><strong>}

 \large { :  \implies \: x = </strong><strong>2</strong><strong>0</strong><strong>}

  • The breadth of park is 20 m

  • Length = 3x-2 = 3(20) - 2 = 58 m

Answer :-

  • Length of the rectangular park is 58m.

Given :-

  • Length of a rectangular park is 2m less than thrice the breadth and perimeter of park is 156m.

To Find :-

  • Length of the rectangular park.

Solution :-

Let

  • Breadth of the rectangular park be x
  • Length of the rectangular park will be 3x - 2

Given

  • Perimeter of the rectangular park is 156m.

As we know that

Perimeter of the rectangle is

2 (l + b)

Where

  • l = length of the rectangle
  • b = breadth of the rectangle

According to question :-

⇒ 2 {(3x - 2) + x} = 156

⇒ 2 {3x + x - 2} = 156

⇒ 2 { 4x - 2 } = 156

⇒ 4x - 2 = 156/2

⇒ 4x - 2 = 78

⇒ 4x = 78 + 2

⇒ 4x = 80

⇒ x = 80/4

⇒ x = 20

Now

  • Breadth of the rectangular park = x = 20m
  • Length of the rectangular park = 3x - 2 = 3(20) - 2 = 58m

Hence, the length of the rectangular park is 58m.
