Answer:

length = 25m

breadth = 10m

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

  1. length of a rectangular swimming pool is 5/2 times its breadth.
  2. perimeter = 70

To find:

  • length(l)
  • breadth(b)

Formula used: perimeter of rectange = 2(l+b)

Solution :

Let the breadth be Y

therefore length = 5/2 *Y

Now perimeter of rectange = 2(l+b)

=> 70= 2( y+(5/2)Y)

=> 70/2 = y+(5/2)Y

=> 35= y+(5/2)Y

=> 35 = 7Y/2

=> 35*2/7 = Y

=> 10 = Y

therefore breadth = 10 m

now, length = 5*10/2

= 25m
