To find : side of square .

Given : length of diagonal 50\ m .

Solution :

  • As per the given data we have length of diagonal as 50\ m .
  • Assuming sides square to be , AB =y ,BC= y ,CD=y  ,DA =y
  • Diagonal be AC .
  • Applying pythagoras theorem .

      \begin{array}{l}(50)^{2}=y^{2}+y^{2} \\2500=2 y^{2} \\y^{2}=\frac{2500}{2}=1250 \\y=\sqrt{1250}= 35.35\ m \end{array}

Hence , side of square is 35.35\ m .
