Let the -

  • breadth of rectangle be x

Length of rectangle is 2 cm more than twice it's breadth.

Breadth of rectangle = 2x + 2

Perimeter of rectangle = 2(length + breadth

Also given that perimeter of rectangle is 28 cm.

Substitute the known values in above formula

→ 28 = 2(2x + 2 + x)

→ 28 = 2(3x + 2)

→ 28 = 6x + 4

→ 6x = 28 - 4

→ 6x = 24

→ x = 4

•°• Breadth of rectangle = 4 cm

And

•°• Length of rectangle = 2(4) + 2

→ 8 + 2

10 cm

Verification :-

From above calculations length of rectangle = 10 cm and breadth of rectangle = 4 cm

And we have given that perimeter of rectangle is 28 cm

→ 28 = 2(10 + 4)

→ 28 = 2(14)

→ 28 = 28

 \large  \underline{ \underline{  \sf \: Solution : \:  \:  \: }}

Given ,

 \to Perimeter of rectangle = 28 cm

Let ,

 \toBreadth of rectangle = x

 \toSo , length = 2 + 2x

We know that ,

 \large \fbox{ \fbox{ \sf Perimeter  = 2(length + breadth)}}

 \implies \sf 28 = 2(2 + 2x + x) \\  \\ \implies \sf  \frac{28}{2}  = 2 + 3x \\  \\\implies \sf  14 - 2 = 3x \\  \\\implies \sf  3x = 12 \\  \\\implies \sf  x =  \frac{12}{3}  \\  \\\implies \sf  x = 4

 \thereforeBreadth = 4 cm & length = 10 cm
