Let the breadth be x
Length is 6 cm more than breadth
Thus the Length is x + 6 cm

Area of rectangle = length × breadth
280 = x • (x+6)
280 = x² + 6x
x² + 6x - 280 = 0
x² + 20x - 14x - 280 = 0
x(x+20) - 14(x+20) = 0
(x-14)(x+20) = 0
thus x = 14 OR x = -20
But the side of a rectangle can't be negative

thus x = 14

BREADTH = x = 14cm
LENGTH = x + 6 = 14 + 6 = 20cm
