Answer:

Let the breadth of the rectangle be x m. Then,

length of the rectangle =(2x−8) m

Given, perimeter =56 m

⟹2(2x−8+x)=56

⟹2(3x−8)=56

⟹6x−16=56

⟹6x=56+16[Transposing−16toRHS]

⟹6x=72

⟹x=12

Therefore, breadth of the rectangle =12 m and length of the rectangle =2×12−8=16 m

Let the breadth be x

Length= 8-2x

Given perimeter = 56m

Perimeter= 2×(l+b)

56=2×(8-2x+x)

56=2×(8-1x)

56=16-2x

56-16= -2x

40= -2x

 \sf \: x =  \frac{40}{2}  = 20

So the breadth is 20m

Length=8-2x

=8-2×20

=8-40

=32m

And the length is 32m

Hope it helps you.....
