Given :-

  • Length of hall = 10m more than its breadth
  • Perimeter of hall = 100 m

To find :-

  • Linear equation formed.
  • Length & breadth of hall

Solution :-

Let the breadth of hall be b m & the length of hall be (b + 10) m

As we know,

Perimeter of hall = 2(length + breadth)

Forming an equation :

⇒ 100 = 2(b + 10 + b) ----- Equation

⇒ 100 = 2(2b + 10)

⇒ 100/2 = 2b + 10

⇒ 50 = 2b + 10

⇒ 50 - 10 = 2b

⇒ 40 = 2b

⇒ 40/2 = b

⇒ b = 20

∴ Breadth of hall = 20 m

Now finding length of hall :

⇒ Length = b + 10

⇒ Length = 20 + 10

Length = 30

∴ Length of hall = 30 m

Therefore,

Hence, length & breadth of hall are 30 m & 20 m respectively.

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Solution :-

Let the breadth of hall be x m

And the length of hall be (x + 10) m.

Perimeter of Rectangle = 2(length + breadth)

According to the Question,

100 = 2(x + 10 + x)

⇒ 100 = 2(2x + 10)

⇒ 100/2 = 2x + 10

⇒ 50 = 2x + 10

⇒ 50 - 10 = 2x

⇒ 2x = 40

⇒ x = 40/2

x = 20 m

Breadth = 20 m

Now, Length = x + 10 = 20 + 10 = 30 m

Hence, length & breadth of hall are 30 m and 20 m.
