Length of the hypotenuse of a right angled triangle is 61 cm
It's one side is 11cm find the length of the other side

We know from Pythagoras theorem that
Square of hypotenuse = Sum of squares of other two sides
Let the missing side be x
Now by substituting the values from the question we get...
{61}^{2}  =  {x}^{2}  +  {11}^{2}  \\changing \: signs \: as \: changing \: sides  \\  =  >  {x}^{2} =  {61}^{2}   -  {11}^{2}  \\  =  >  {x}^{2}  = 3721 - 121 \\  =  >  {x}^{2} = 3600 \\  =  > x =  \sqrt{3600}    \\  =  > x = 60

So the length of other side is 60cm
