Length of the minute hand of a clock is 10 cm.What is the distance travelled by it and its displacement between (a)10:00 a.m to 10:30 a.m (b) 10:00 a.m to 10:15 a.m ?

length of minute hand l=10cm

from 10am to 10:30am,the tip of the minute hand moves diametrically opposite point on the clock.

thus displacement=diametre AOB=21=20cm

and total distance coverd by the minute hand =(1/2)=circumference=arc=ACB
