Length of minute hand = radius of circle
Radius of circle = 5 cm
Circumference =2πr
= 2 × 22/7 × 5
= 220/7 cm
Time taken by minute hand for 1 round = 60 minutes = 60 × 60 = 3600 seconds
Speed = distance ÷ time
= 220/7 ÷ 3600
= 220/7 × 1/3600
= 11/7 × 1/180
= 11/1260
= 0.0087 cm/s

Answer:

Explanation:

Angular velocity = Angular displacement / time.

= 2πr(a complete revolution of a circle) / 3600sec(60min = revolution of a minutes hand since 1 revolution = 1 hour)

=2πr / 3600

=2π * 5 / 3600

=2π / 720

= 2 * 3.14 / 7 * 720

=0.0087 cm/s

=8.7 * 10^-3 cm/s
