Given :–
- Parallel sides = 8.5cm and 11.5cm
- Height = 4.2cm
To Find :–
- Area of a trapezium.
Solution :–
We know that,
Area of a trapezium = × (sum of two parallel sides) × height
- Sum of two parallel sides = 8.5cm + 11.5cm
- Height = 4.2cm
Now, put the given values on the formula of area of a trapezium.
⟹ × (8.5 + 11.5) × 4.2
⟹ × (20) × 4.2
⟹ × 4.2
⟹ 10 × 4.2
⟹ ×
⟹ 42cm²
Hence,
The area of a trapezium is 42cm².

Given ,
- The parallel sides of trapezium are 8.5 cm and 11.5 cm
- Height of trapezium is 4.2 cm
We know that , the area of trapezium is given by
Thus ,
Area = 1/2 × (8.5 + 11.5) × 4.2
Area = 1/2 × 20 × 4.2
Area = 10 × 4.2
Area = 42 cm²
Therefore ,
- The area of trapezium is 42 cm²
