3x+4=7x+2

Subtract 7x from both sides.

3x+4−7x=2

Combine 3x and −7x to get −4x.

−4x+4=2

Subtract 4 from both sides.

−4x=2−4

Subtract 4 from 2 to get −2.

−4x=−2

Divide both sides by −4.

x= −4/-2

Reduce the fraction

−4/−2

=0.5 to lowest terms by extracting and canceling out −2.

x=  2/1

I hope this answer helps you
