CA = 2.5 cm

AB = 2.5 cm

BD = 2.5 cm

AD = 5 cm

CD = 7.5 cm

Step-by-step explanation:

Let A and B be the centres of circles of equal radii of 2.5 cm of each.

Using compass draw two circle with radius 2.5 cm

  • Blue circle with center A  ( Please find attachment )
  • Green circle with center B (Please find attachment )

Produce AB on the either side so as to meet the circles with centre A and centre B at point C and D respectively.

C is point on blue circle.

D is point on green circle.

Now measure each length

CA is radius of blue circle, CA = 2.5 cm

AB is distance between center of two circle, AB = 2.5 cm

BD is radius of green circle, BD = 2.5 cm

AD is diameter of green circle, AD = 5 cm

CD is total length from one end to another end, CD = CA + AB + BD = 7.5 cm
