Answer:

P(A)=1/5

P(B)=1/2

P(A and B)=1/12.

It must be noted that 2 events are said to be dependent if occurence of one is affected by the occurence of other.

if A and B are dependent events then :P(A/B) =P(A and B)/P(B).

(P(A/B) is read as Probability of A given B has already occured).

if A and B are independent events then P(A and B) =P(A)x P(B).

Now Lets verify if the above events are dependent/independent.

P(A) x P(B)= 1/5 x 1/2 =1/10 and this is not equal to P(A and B)=1/12

so, They are not independent.

Hence ,

They must be Dependent.

we get P(A/B)= (1/12 )/(1/2)=1/6.

P(B/A) = (1/12)/(1/5)=5/12.

Hope it helps.
