let a=b
multiplying both side by a
a²= ab
subtracting b² from both side-
a²-b²= ab-b²
(a+b)(a-b)=b(a-b)
a+b=b
b+b=b(a=b)
2b=b
2=1. check it

wait a sec

if a=b then a-b=a-a=0

so last 6th step is probably wrong

Step-by-step explanation:

It is logically correct but in the 6th line

there is (a+b)(a-b)=b(a-b)

here a=b so LHS =RHS is equal to zero

since (a+b)(a-b)=b(a-b)

=>(a+b)=b(a-b)/(a-b)

=>a+b=b(a-a)/(a-a)

=>a+b=b(0/0)

but we know that division with zero is not defined and meaningless

so it is the wrong thing in that

so 2is never equals to 1
