The value of ( 2 A1 + 3 A2 ) . ( 3 A1 - 2 A2 ) is  - 118.5.

Given: | A1 |  = 3, | A2 | = 5 and | A1 + A2 | = 5.

To Find: The value of ( 2 A1 + 3 A2 ) . ( 3 A1 - 2 A2 )

Solution:

The value of square for a vector can be calculated using the formula,

   | A1 + A2 |² =  | A1 |² +  | A2 |² + 2.| A1 |.| A2 |

Putting respective values of | A1 |  = 3, | A2 | = 5 and | A1 + A2 | = 5, we get

 ⇒ 5² = 3² + 5² + 2.| A1 |.| A2 |

 ⇒ | A1 |.| A2 | = - 9 / 2

Now, ( 2 A1 + 3 A2 ) . ( 3 A1 - 2 A2 )

  = 6 | A1 |² - 6 | A2 |² + 9.| A1 |.| A2 | -  4.| A1 |.| A2 |

  =  6 | A1 |² - 6 | A2 |² + 5 | A1 |.| A2 |

Substituting the values | A1 |  = 3, | A2 | = 5 and | A1 |.| A2 | = - 9/2, we get,

  = 6 ( 9 ) - 6 ( 25 ) + 5 ( - 9/2 )

  = -118.5

Hence, The value of ( 2 A1 + 3 A2 ) . ( 3 A1 - 2 A2 ) is  - 118.5
