It has given that, G and C are the events of students who are genius and chocolate lovers respectively. Here P(G) = 0.6, P(C) = 0.7 and P(G U C) = 0.4

We have to find the P(G' U C')

solution : we know, P(G' U C') = 1 - P(G n C)

= 1 - [P(G) + P(C) - P(G U C) ]

= 1 - [0.6 + 0.7 - 0.4 ]

= 1 - [0.9 ]

= 0.1

therefore the value of P(G' U C') = 0.1
