The value of 3 * 2 = 11

Given :

* is a binary operation defined on R by a * b = a + b + ab

To find :

The value of 3 * 2

Solution :

Step 1 of 2 :

Write down the given relation

Here it is given that * is a binary operation defined on R by a * b = a + b + ab

Step 2 of 2 :

Find the value of 3 * 2

a * b = a + b + ab

Putting a = 2 , b = 3 we get

3 * 2

= 3 + 2 + ( 3 × 2 )

= 3 + 2 + 6

= 11
