SOLUTION

TO DETERMINE

Let l1 and l2 be two lines with well defined then l1 is perpendicular to l2 if and if only

EVALUATION

 \sf{Let  \: m_1 \:  \: and \:  \:  m_2  \: be  \: the  \: solpes  \: of \:  the \:  lines \:  l_1 \:  \: and \:  \:  l_2}

Let θ be the angle between them

 \displaystyle \sf{ \tan \theta =   \bigg|  \frac{m_1  - m_2}{1 + m_1 m_2} \bigg|  }

Now the lines are perpendicular

∴ θ = 90°

 \displaystyle \sf{1 + m_1 m_2 = 0 }

 \displaystyle \sf{ \implies \:  m_1 m_2 =  - 1 }

So the product of slopes = - 1

FINAL ANSWER

let l1 and l2 be two lines with well defined then l1 is perpendicular to l2 if and if only product of the slopes = - 1
