The dimensions of an almirah are 1 m × 60 cm × 2m. It has been divided in 4 compartments partitioned by 3 shelves made up of 4cm thick wood . What is the volume of each compartment ?

if 4 partitions are made in the direction of height with three shelves of 4 cm thick,

 

then height of each compartment is = [ 200 - (3×4)] / 4 = 188/4 = 47 cm

 

Volume of each compartment = 0.47×1×0.6 = 0.282 m3
