Given : N is set of natural numbers = {1,2,3, and so on}

f: N → N by f (x) = 3x +2

To Find:

f (1), f (2), f (-3), f (-4)

Solution:

For f(1)= 3x1 + 2 = 5

f(2) = 3 x 2 + 2 = 8

for f (-3) and f (-4) the function cannot be defined as x = -3 and x= -4 are not natural numbers.
