Let O, Pand Q represent the numbers 0,4and -3 respectively, the no. line. Points R, S, T, U and V are between 0 and P such that OR=RS=ST=TU=UV=VP and points W, X, Y and Z a such that QW = WX=XY =YZ =ZO What are the rational numbers represented by the points R, S, T, U, V, W, X, Y, and Z

Answer:

The value of the points between O and P are the numbers

R=2/3, S=4/3, T=2, U=8/3, V=10/3.

And the value of the points between Q and O are the numbers

W=-12/5, X=-9/5, Y=-6/5, Z=-3/5.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given the values of O=0 ,P=4 and =-3.

therefore the length of the line segment  OP=4cm and we add five point in between O and P, hence each sub segment is of length 4/6cm. So add 4/6 to each point we obtained.

That is

R=0+4/6=2/3cm\\S=2/3+2/3=4/3cm\\T=4/3+2/3=6/3=2cm\\U=2+2/3=8/3cm\\V=8/3+2/3=10/3cm\\P=10/3+2/3=12/3=4cm

similarly add four points between W and O ,we get

5 line segments each of length 3/5cm.

That is,

Q=-3, \\W=-3+3/5=-12/5\\X=-12/5+3/5=-9/5\\Y=-9/5+3/5=-6/5\\Z=-6/5+3/5=-3/5\\O=-3/5+3/5=0

Hence the answer.

thank you
