Let p and q be two natural numbers.

5 p + 3 q + p q = 290.

Calculate q/p.

Easy question.

kvnmurty: No guessing numbers. Use simple algebra
kvnmurty: No. We need to find numerical values.but deriving algebraically

Hey there!!

We are given ,

5p + 3q + pq = 290

add 15 on both the side i.e. RHS and LHS

so , => 15 + 5p + 3q + pq = 290 + 15

=> 5( 3 +p) + q ( 3 +p) = 305

=> ( 5 + q) ( 3+ p) = 305

Now we can express 305 as 5 ×61

( 5+q) (3+p) = 5×61

so, taking/comparing both the side

3 + p = 5
=> p = 2

also , 5 + q = 61
=> q = 56

A/q ,
q/p
=> 56/2 = 28

Hope this helps u users
^_^
