Let P (x) and Q (x) be two different polynomials with real coefficiensts of degrees m and n respectively, where m ≥ 0 and n ≥ 0, then
Statement I : deg {P(x)-Q(x)} ≤ d.
Statement II : deg {P(x), Q(x)} = m+n
where 'd' is defined as d
= m if m > n
= n if n > m
= m or n if m = n
and 'deg' stands for degree of the polynomial.
In your opinion,
(a). Only statement II is true.
(b). Both the statements I & II are true.
(c). Both statements I & II are false.
(d). Only statement I is true.
