a.Let, R1=6Ω αnd R2=12Ω

Since, R1 and R2 are connected in parallel,
1/Rp=1/R1+1/R2
=1/6+1/12
=3/12
=4Ω

By Ohm's law,
I=V/R
=4/4
=1A

Therefore, the current through the 6Ω resistor is 1A.

b.The potential difference across the 12Ω resistor will be 4 V as the potential difference remain constant in parallel combination.
