Let small d be the HCF of 24&36. Find two numbers a&b such that d=24a+36b

We know that HCF of 24 & 36 is 12
So
12=24a+36b
Since there is only one linear equation in 2 variables there can be infinite solutions to it. One possible answer is
12 = 24(1 \div 4) + 36(1   \div 6)
So a=1/4 b=1/6
