Let the present age of salim and his daughter be x & y 2 years ago
The age of salim is (x-2)
The age of his daughter is (y-2)
According to question ( x-2 ) = 3( y-2) X-2 = 3y - 6
X - 3y = -4 .......(1)
Six years later The age of salim is (x+6)
The age of his daughter is (y+6)
According to question (x+6) = 4+2(y+6)
X+6 = 4+2y+12
x+6 = 2y +16
x-2y = 16-6
x-2y = 10..........(2)
Solving equations by elimination method
Y= 14. X= 38

Answer:

Let present A’s age =x

B’s age =y

According to the question,

x=5(2y−x)       …… (1)

Since,

x+y=64                 …… (2)

On solving equation (1) and (2), we get

x=40

y=24
