GOOD MORNING

A friend of mine tells the story of dining at what they call a dark restaurant, or a restaurant for the blind, in Berlin, Germany. The idea behind this restaurant is to give people the opportunity to experience what it is like to be blind.

There is not a smidgen of light for your eyes to adjust to.

I don’t know if your eyes would be damaged or if they would just hurt really badly, but one must slowly emerge from darkness to light.

They don’t talk to those they haven’t been introduced to and they don’t intermingle with others not in their own familiar group, but as the dinner progressed, the tables began to talk to each other.

Let us March from darkness to light is a line from Kailash Sathyarthi's ( an Indian social reformer who campaigned against child labour) speech that he had given at the time of receiving the Noble prize. He is the founder of the Global March against Child Labour to end child labour. It was a grassroot movement which motivated several organisations and individuals to come together and fight against child labour

Explanation:

  • He was awarded the Noble Prize along with Malala Yousafzai, for his struggle against the suppression of children as well as for the right of all children to education. At the time of receiving the award he gave a speech wherein he desired to free humanity from all man-made crises.
  • He stated that  there is a need to globalise compassion, for all children and he called for a march from from poverty to shared prosperity, exploitation to education, from slavery to freedom and from violence to peace. He said lets is march from darkness to light, and from mortality to divinity.
