Let us show that the points (2,2),(-2,-2) and (-2√3,2√3) are the vertices of an equilateral triangle.

Let the points be represented by A(a,a),B(−a,−a) and C(−a−a√3a√3). Using the distance formula

∴AB=BC=CA=2

Since all the sides are equal the points form an equilateral triangle.
