Given :   x = ( 10 , - 3)   , y = ( -1 , - 5)

To Find :  distance between x and y

Solution:

Distance formula between 2 points

(x₁ , x₂ ) and (y₁ , y₂)

= √(x₂ - x₁)² + (y₂ - y₁)²

x = ( 10 , - 3)    y = ( -1 , - 5)

x₁ = 10    , x₂ = -1

y₁ = -3   ,  y₂ = - 5

Distance

= √(-1 -10)² + (-5 - (-3))²

= √(-11)² + (-2)²

= √121 + 4

= √125

= 5√5

distance between x and y is  5√5
