Let X = { - 3 , - 2 , - 1 , 0 , 1 , 2 } and Y = { x : x is an integer and - 3 ≤ x 1 2}

(i) Is X a subset of Y ?
(ii) Is Y a subset of X ?

X = { - 3 , - 2 , - 1 , 0 , 1 , 2 } and Y = { x : x is an integer and - 3 ≤ x 1 2}

That means, 
X = { - 3 , - 2 , - 1 , 0 , 1 , 2 } and Y = { -3, -2, -1, 0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11}

(i) Is X a subset of Y ?

Yes, X is a subset of Y as all the elements of X are also present in Y. 

(ii) Is Y a subset of X ?

No, as all the elements of Y are not in X.
