Expected E(x) = 50

Step-by-step explanation:

odd numbers from 1 to 100

1  , 3 , 5 , 7  , 9..................................................., 97 , 99

total numbers = n

99 = 1 + (n-1)2

=> n-1 = 98/2

=> n = 50

E(1) = 1/50

E(3) = 1/50

E(5) = 1/50

E(97) = 1/50

E(99) = 1/50

Expected E(x) = (1/50)  + 3*(1/50)  + ........................................+ 97(1/50) + 99(1/50)

= (1/50)(1 + 3 + ...............97 + 99)

=(1/50)(50/2)(1 + 99)

= (1/2 )* 100

= 50

Expected E(x) = 50
