How are you? Hope you are doing well. It has been a few days since we last spoke, so I am a bit worried about you. You might know that I left to India last week. I am writing to express my sincerest apologies for failing to meet you at the airport.
To tell you the truth, I was late for my flight. I had run into some trouble at the check-in counter. I had forgotten to bring my boarding pass. After a lot of trouble, I found it online and printed it. I was thus delayed by one hour.
So, I had to rush, and in that hurry I could not meet you before departing. I hope you will forgive me for my mistake caused by my own carelessness. I am really very sorry.
