Dear Sir,
                                                Our environment

This is to draw your kind attention to the immense harm being caused to our environment by the wanton felling of trees around the country, most so in the rural and forest areas. I would like to write to you about a few other harms being caused to the environment, viz. excessive entry of visitors into our reserve forests and national parks at any given time, mushrooming of hotels in our coastal areas and on the hills, use of polythene or non-biodegradable packaging material in most places of the country and so on.

I would be happy if the Government of India monitors all the above activities and puts better checks and measures in place to improve the situation. Exemplary punishment should be meted out to people who do not abide by the Government's strictures.

Thanking you,

Yours faithfully
Rajesh Mukherjee
